Every year around this time, my Instagram feed turns into a swirl of pumpkin spice everything with cozy sweaters, cinnamon candles, pumpkin lattes… all the fall vibes!

Now, we don’t actually have the fall season where we live (we live in Zambia!) but that doesn’t stop me from loving everything about it. So, this year I decided to bring a little piece of that cozy “pumpkin spice life” to  Kiki and Zamba.

Pumpkin spice pup cup

They’ve never had a pumpkin spice pup cup before but after seeing so many adorable pumpkin themed dog treats online, I thought, why not try it for them?

And let me tell you, it was a total hit.

Ingredients

(Enough for 2–3 small pup cups)

  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 1 cup cooked pumpkin puree
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon (just a tiny bit, make sure it’s plain cinnamon, not mixed spice)
  • A squirt of honey
  • ¼ tsp vanilla extract
  • Squirty cream for topping (because that’s the best part!)

How to Make Pumpkin Spice Pup Cups

  1. Blend it all up: Add everything (except the cream) to a blender and mix until thick and creamy.
  2. Scoop into cups: Pour or spoon the mixture into some cute cups (not glass).
  3. Top with love: Add a swirl of squirty cream on top because this is the star of the show.
  4. Watch the joy: Serve it up and let your pups enjoy their cozy “pumpkin spice” moment!

Zamba devoured his in seconds, while Kiki savoured every last lick!

Make Frozen Pumpkin Dog Treats

If you have leftover mixture, don’t toss it!
Spread it onto Lick Mats for an easy boredom buster. Spoon it into ice cube trays or silicone molds and freeze it for later. Or fill a Kong toy, pop it in the freezer overnight, and give it to your pup the next day as a boredom-busting snack.

Even though we don’t live in the USA or experience the fall season, this little recipe made us feel part of it and it was such a fun way to treat Kiki and Zamba.

So if you’ve been watching all those cozy fall videos online and want to bring a taste of it to your own home (and your pups!), this is your sign to try Homemade Pumpkin Spice Pup Cups.
