We might be a few days late (because of Easter) but, today we celebrate our handsome boy, Zamba… three years of love, loyalty, and a bond that words could never fully capture.
From the moment Zamba came into our lives, everything changed. There’s just something about him, the way he carries himself with quiet confidence, the way his eyes soften when he looks at Gia, the way he protects, loves, and feels so deeply.
Rottweilers are often misunderstood. He is gentle, patient, and deeply connected to us in a way that still amazes me every day. Especially with Gia… their bond is something truly special. It’s built on trust, loyalty, and a kind of love that is pure.
Zamba’s Birthday Feast: Raw Mince Meatballs
This year, we’re celebrating Zamba in a way that suits him perfectly… simple, natural, and full of goodness.
No fancy cake needed, just something he truly loves: raw mince meatballs.
Ingredients:
Fresh raw mince (beef or chicken)
Optional: finely grated carrots or zucchini for added nutrients
Optional: a raw egg for binding and extra protein
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a bowl.
Roll into medium-sized meatballs.
Serve fresh (or slightly chilled) as a special birthday treat.
Happy 3rd birthday, our beautiful boy. You’re everything we could have ever hoped for in a dog… and more.
I thought I was doing everything right for Kiki and Zamba… until I realised there are things you can’t always see when it comes to their health. That’s what led me to trying the Pets Are Kids Multivitamin Chews.
What I liked about these multivitamin chews straight away is that they’re not just a basic multivitamin.
They’re designed to support:
immune health (which matters more than we think)
allergy support (especially as seasons change)
gut health (which affects everything)
and overall daily wellness
It’s that all-in-one support that made it make sense for me. It’s easy to buy something once… but the real question is, will you actually keep using it?
For me, that’s a very easy YES! It’s one chew a day for Kiki and a few for Zamba, they taste like treats so they both really enjoy their multivitamin and it fits into our daily routine without me even thinking about it.
What I’ve noticed in the few months Kiki and Zamba have been taking them is nothing overhyped or unrealistic. Just that they are happy, extremely active, their gut health is in tip top condition and so is their skin and fur!
You don’t need to overhaul everything you’re doing, you don’t need to do anything drastic. But adding something like the Pets Are Kids Multivitamin is such an easy step that actually supports your pups a lot more than you realise.
Honestly, this is one of those products that just makes sense. We absolutely love the Pets Are Kids Multivitamin and they will remain part of our daily routine for a very long time!

Today is a very special day in our household… it’s Kiki’s third birthday! It feels like just yesterday that this tiny Boston Terrier stole our hearts with her big eyes, tiny wiggly tail, and that unmistakable sassy attitude that has kept us on our toes ever since.
Kiki isn’t just a dog, she’s a whole vibe. She struts around like she owns the place, demands snuggles only when it suits her, and has perfected the art of giving the side-eye when she doesn’t get her way. And honestly… we wouldn’t have it any other way. She’s our little bundle of joy, mischief, and unconditional love.
Mini Pup-Friendly Cheesecakes: Kiki’s Birthday Treat This year, we decided to celebrate Kiki in the sweetest way possible with mini cheesecakes made just for her! These are pup-friendly and super easy to make.
Happy Birthday, Kiki! You may be small, but your personality is larger than life. You bring laughter, love, and a whole lot of sass into our home every single day. Here’s to many more adventures, cuddles, and, of course, pup-friendly desserts! We love you Kiki!
Back-to-school season brings a big shift for every family, including the four-legged family members! Gia’s been on school holidays for the past 8 weeks, and we have thoroughly enjoyed our lazy mornings and endless play sessions, cuddles, and a house full of energy!
While we’re excited for new routines, and what year two at school brings for Gia, Kiki and especially Zamba struggles to settle into the back-to-school routine!
So here are a few thoughtful adjustments to help ease your pup into the back-to-school routine…
1. Establish a Predictable Routine
Just like us, dogs thrive on routine. When Gia goes back to school, I try to maintain a consistent schedule for school run, meals, and playtime.
Morning: wake up & enjoy school run before breakfast
Afternoon: I try give them a boredom buster
Evening: Family playtime to burn off energy
A predictable routine helps your dog feel secure and less stressed when the house is empty during the day.
2. Create a Cozy Comfort Zone
I never exclude Kiki and Zamba in any room and often I will find them curled up on Gia’s bed or in her playroom, especially in the early days of back-to-school. You can set up a special area in your home where your dog feels safe and relaxed while the family is out.
Include:
A comfy dog bed or blanket
A favourite toy or two
Calming items like an unwashed T-shirt with their tiny humans scent (this works really well!)
This designated spot becomes your dog’s “home base” and signals that downtime is okay. My office is probably Kiki and Zamba’s “home base” for quiet time, they love curling up under my desk while I work.
3. Tire Them Out Before You Leave
A tired dog is a happy dog! Before school or work, spend 15-20 minutes on activities that burn energy. When dogs start the day with exercise, they’re less likely to become anxious or destructive when left alone, however I am home a lot because I work from home but on days when I am out or in and out a lot I prioritise a quick game of fetch for Zamba and I offer Kiki a chew toy she can bury!
A brisk morning walk
A short game of fetch in the yard
Quick obedience training for mental stimulation
4. Keep Their Minds Busy
Dogs get bored just like we do. I like to give Kiki and Zamba interactive toys and puzzles or bones (dog safe ones) to keep them mentally stimulated while I am busy with my day.
Lick mats or frozen Kongs
Treat-dispensing puzzle toys (timer based ones are awesome!)
Snuffle mats for scent games
Mental enrichment is key to easing separation anxiety and preventing mischief. Get 10% off SODAPUP enrichment bowls and toys using our code STACEY —> Click here to shop
7. Include Your Pup in Activities
Zamba’s favourite part of his back-to-school routine is going on school run! If you follow us on Instagram then you will know exactly what I am talking about. His second favourite time of the day is when Gia gets home from school!
Take them on school runs if you can
Play a quick fetch game in the backyard
Let your pup “help” with homework by sitting nearby
This helps them reconnect with the family and burn off that “I missed you all day!” energy.
8. Give Them Extra Love & Patience
Remember: your pup doesn’t understand why life suddenly changed. A little patience, attention, and reassurance goes a long way in helping them adapt to the new routine.
Back-to-school season can be an adjustment for the whole family — but especially for our loyal pups. With a consistent routine, mental stimulation, and plenty of love, your dog will transition smoothly into this quieter season of the year.

It’s hard to believe that our two hooligans are in fact two years old! It’s safe to say there hasn’t been a dull day because one way or another both Kiki and Zamba make us giggle daily, and I cant thank them enough for it.
It’s been two years since we suddenly lost Zara and our hearts were shattered into a million pieces! But it has also been two years of slowly repairing our broken hearts and learning to love again when we didn’t think it was possible.
When I first laid eyes on Kiki, she completely took my breath away because she was so tiny! As the saying goes though, dynamite comes in small packages and oh boy did Kiki come into our home with a boom! She has a spark in her that I can relate to being an Aires myself. It’s a spark I hope she never looses because in all honesty it makes Kiki, Kiki.
Then I cast my eyes on Zamba and instantly burst into tears because obviously he reminded me of Zara simply because he is a Rottweiler too. But thats where the resemblance stays. We didn’t want to ‘replace’ Zara, however Zara is the girl who changed our perception as a family on the Rottweiler breed. And for that I can never thank her enough! In all his fluffy glory, my baby bear Zamba sat there, looked into my eyes and I just knew he was my boy! He has grown into the most goofiest, mischievous and needy but oh so lovable boy I could ever have dreamed of!
So today we celebrate the day that both Kiki and Zamba stepped into our hearts and we fell head over heels in love…
No celebration would be complete without a birthday cake, so here is the recipe for Kiki and Zamba’s Gotcha Day Cakes.

It’s winter here in Zambia and although we do not experience winter like Europe, for us it gets pretty chilly! And for a little Boston Terrier like Kiki, even the slightest drop in temperature affects her. So this blog is all about how to keep your Boston Terrier warm in winter.
Kiki is a little Boston Terrier girl and a little over one years old. What she lacks in size, she certainly makes up in her attitude department- haha. But with that being said, Kiki does not have a lot of fur covering her little body, or should I say her fur certainly is not as thick and luscious compared to other breeds of dogs.
Kiki is practically bald behind her ears, on the inside of her hind legs and under her chin and chest area. So the slightest temperature change make a big difference to her! *This post contains affiliate links.
Here are a few key things I do to make sure Kiki the Boston Terrier is kept warm and comfortable when its cold:
Clothing
I always thought dog clothing was more of an accessory than a necessity, however since having Kiki I have come to realise that it does in fact serve a purpose and it makes a huge difference in Kiki’s life! Kiki has a few sweaters that vary in thickness depending on how cold the day or night will be and I am always on the lookout for more stylish sweaters to add to her collection! Shop dog jackets here.
A Warm Meal
There is nothing nicer than eating a warm meal when it’s cold and that’s exactly what I do for Kiki. I make a warm portion of bone broth which I pour over her kibble and she absolutely loves it! I have also seen a noticeable difference when she has her warm meal she’s more active and ready to play versus when she has just plain kibble on a cold day she looks for a cosy spot on the couch and snuggles a little to warm up before getting into the playful mood. Shop bone broth here.
A Comfy Bed
Kiki has a few comfy beds of her own around the house. She has one under my desk in my office space and she has one in our bedroom which gets put onto our bed at night and she sleeps in there snuggled up like a bug! Kiki is also allowed to snuggle up on the couch if she wants to. At night when I have a cosy couch blanket, Kiki comes nudging her way to warm up and cosy right next to me š This is about the only thing I love about winter- haha! Shop comfy beds here.
Things I try and avoid during winter for Kiki:
Bathing
Kiki doesn’t get bathed as often in winter as she does in summer. But when I do bath her I make sure to bath her on the warmest day predicted using my weather app, and I will bath her at the hottest time of the day. This allows her to then go and sunbathe to dry off and warm herself back up faster. When bathing is not an option I will use doggy wipes which actually work really well! Shop doggy wipes here.
Drafts
I never allow Kiki to be in a draft. If I see her on the couch snuggled uncomfortably trying to get warm, I will always close the windows and doors for her. Like I said, the slightest temperature drop makes a big difference to Kiki and wind is a bog part of that for her. Shop dog blankets here.
So to answer your question, can Boston Terriers handle cold weather? My answer is a huge NO!
I hope my tips help keep your Boston Terrier or any other pupper warm during winter. Be sure to follow Kiki my little Boston Terrier on Instagram as she shows off her sassiness and shares her life with her big bro Zamba the Rottweiler and her baby sis Gia @stylish_paws
It’s Zamba’s first Gotcha Day and we couldn’t be more excited to celebrate our big baby bear in all his glory! In my biased opinion, there is nothing cuter than a Rottweiler puppy and wow Zamba was cute.
When we welcomed Zamba into our family a year ago today, we had recently lost our soul sister Zara. Zara was a Rottweiler too and she was the reason we knew we needed another needy Rottweiler in our lives. Zamba may have thought he had big paws to fill but it was important to us to let him know that he needed to just be himself and find his place within our family, which is of course was being needy but we wouldn’t change a thing!
When you look beyond Zamba’s big size and striking looks, you get to discover a giant teddy bear. A teddy bear that wants to kiss you for hours and run around the house squeaking one of his many many balls because balls are life!
So today we celebrate our bear Zamba.
Zamba’s LickiMat Birthday Treat
I am using the LickiMat brand for no other reason than it is what I had available to buy at the time of doing Zamba’s birthday prep! There are many amazing brands out there that offer similar things to fill and create birthday treats like the one I have prepared for Zamba.
Ingredients
To create a filled LickiMat (or a brand of your choice) simply choose what your pup loves to eat. For Zamba I have chosen:
Raw chicken mince
Raw beef mince
Double cream plain yoghurt
Cottage cheese
Carrot rounds
Raw watermelon cut into shapes
Collagen Paws
Doggy treats and sprinkle to top it all
Plus some pet friendly peanut butter
Directions
To assemble and create your fun filled treat bowl, simply layer all your ingredients how you wish. I made balls of chicken mince and beef mince, I spread the yoghurt around the edges, I filled gaps with cottage cheese, I decorated with the carrots and watermelon then topped it all with star shaped doggy treats and drizzled pet friendly peanut butter over everything. Then I put it in the freezer over night. You can choose to either freeze the treat bowl or give it to your pup fresh- it is up to you and your pup š

It’s Kiki’s first Gotcha Day and we couldn’t be more excited to celebrate this feisty little firecracker of ours! From day one Kiki was feisty, and she was fiery but she was full of love and she showed us who was about to rule this roost…
What a year it has been. When we welcomed Kiki into our family exactly a year ago today, our hearts were beyond shattered after losing our precious girl Zara. If you follow us on Instagram, then you’ll know exactly what I mean. Our family needed Kiki, we needed someone new to love and someone new to nurture.
Kiki is our first Boston Terrier and the smallest dog we have ever had the privilege of loving. But do not let her small size fool you! She is the boss around here and she will let anyone and everyone who will listen know. She is extremely playful and has loads of energy bursts, but when it comes to bedtime, oh Kiki can snore alright- but we wouldn’t have it any other way!
So today we celebrate Kiki in all her feisty glory.
Kiki’s Pupcakes
Because Kiki is so small, I thought little pupcakes would suit her perfectly for her birthday treats.
Ingredients
1/2 cup plain flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 cup smooth peanut butter
1 medium banana mashed
1 egg
50ml water
Icing
1/2 cup plain yoghurt
1/3 cup smooth peanut butter
Directions
Preheat your oven to 180 degrees. Mix together the peanut butter, mashed banana, egg and water. Then sift in your flour and baking powder. Whisk together until properly combined and smooth in texture. Then scoop the batter into each mini cupcake holder. Bake for 15-20 minutes until cooked. Allow them to cool completely before icing them.
Icing Directions
Using an electric beater, mix together the yoghurt and peanut butter until smooth, light and fluffy. Once the pupcakes have cooled you can top with the icing.
These pupcakes are totally human safe too so go ahead and enjoy them with your pup!

There is something very exciting about welcoming a new pup into your family and what’s even more exciting is shopping for special puppy must haves. Kiki was my inspiration for this list of puppy must haves, even though when we welcomed her into our family she received a lot of hand-me-downs from Zara which brought us happiness too. However now she is getting her own little personal collection of new items too. Happy shopping for your pupper š

Life with two puppies can be overwhelming, especially when they need mental stimulation and enrichment play non stop. Kiki and Zamba have constant access to toys and chews which they love but they need that extra puppy enrichment play everyday to keep their mischief in check.
Kiki and Zamba both have loads of energy. If they are not playing with each other, they are looking to me to give them the mental stimulation and puppy enrichment they crave, which is why I love Sniffari’s so much. Not only are they easy but they are a fantastic way for both Kiki and Zamba to get their sniffers and brains working!
Here are three easy ways Kiki and Zamba enjoy a Sniffari …
Hide and find treats
What you’ll need: your pups favourite treats and a space where you can hide them.
What to do: Simply hide loads of treats around your chosen space (in the garden, around the house or a specific room) and tell your pups to Find It. Let them follow the treat smells and one by one they find and enjoy their treats. We love playing this sniffari game in the garden and it is a great way to get your pups super engaged with their sniffers and it drains that puppy energy too, a win win in my eyes š
Shop some yummy treats to get those sniffers working…
Enrichment toys
We love the Nina Ottosson range of enrichment toys. There are so many to choose from and they range in difficulty. They are great quality and very easy to clean! We have a few and both Kiki and Zamba love them. Kiki gets right to the treats quite quickly, using her brain while Zamba can sniff the goodness but cannot reach it requiring him to use his brain a little more. Enrichment toys makes your pup use their brain and their sniffer. It’s that irresistible smell of their favourite treat that gets their brain working hard enough to figure out how to get to the treat.
Sniffari Outing
This one is pretty simple and requires nothing besides you and your pup going off for a walk together. Allow them to sniff anything and everything they want to along the way. So often when we walk our pups we don’t allow them to stop and sniff what they really want to sniff, we pull and call and push on with the walk in the hopes they get their sniffing cup filled and their energy cup drained a little. But allowing them to stop and sniff anything and everything uses their senses and their brains far more which means their overall happiness cup will be much fuller and therefore you have much more satisfied pups! Give it a try next time you head out, you might not cover much distance but your pup will love you for the extra sniff time.
