by You might be wondering what exactly bone broth is good for… or why it should feature in your pups diet… or how to make the perfect bone broth… So I’ll tell you…
Bone broth is natures liquid gold. It is packed with vitamins, minerals and joint-loving components that not only supports your pups digestion but it improves their skin and coat health and keeps your pup nourished from the inside.
What Is Bone Broth, Exactly?
Bone broth is a nutrient-rich liquid made by simmering animal bones (I use good quality beef marrow bones) in water over a long period of time (7 hours or more). The long, slow cooking process allows all the collagen, amino acids, gelatin, minerals, and other beneficial nutrients to be extracted from the bones into the broth.
Unlike regular broth or stock, bone broth is simmered for much longer, which results in a thicker, more gelatinous texture (once cooled), especially if it’s made properly. This is what gives it its powerful health-boosting properties for dogs.
For dogs, bone broth is like a natural multivitamin. It’s easy to digest, full of flavour, and incredibly good for their joints, gut, and overall well-being.
Why Bone Broth Should Be in Every Dog’s Diet

How to make the perfect bone broth
You’ll need:
1.5-2kg good quality beef marrow bones
2 tbs apple cider vinegar
Water
How to make your bone broth:
Start by placing all the bones into a very large pot. Pour over the apple cider vinegar and leave it for 20-30minutes (this breaks down the fat). Then pour in enough water to completely cover your bones. Bring it to the boil then simmer it nicely for 7 hours.
Strain your broth very carefully- making sure absolutely NO bones or bit get into the broth. (Dispose of the bones immediately and make 100% sure your dog CANNOT get to it!!) Then Set your strained bone broth aside and leave it to cool overnight. You will notice the fat completely separates from the now jelly like broth. Carefully remove the fat layer and what you’re left with is your glorious liquid gold as they call it… pure bone broth! You can store it in little jars in the fridge for up to 10 days (I don’t do longer) or you can freeze it in ice trays.
Well done for deciding to make your pup the most affordable, nutrient dense supplement out there- you wont regret it and you pup is going to love it too 🙂

by As a family who loves the outdoors with our two pups, Kiki and Zamba, finding dog gear that actually stands up to both adventure and everyday life is no small task. Enter: OneTigris. We recently enjoyed a Sunday adventure with the whole family and …. spoiler alert: we were blown away.

The Harnesses: Comfort + Control
Let’s talk harnesses first. As any Rottweiler mom will know, they can be a bit of a tank on walks, but Zamba’s OneTigris harness held up beautifully. Okay, we’ll admit it—we love a good matching set. The collars and leashes looked great on both pups, but more importantly, they are built to last. Plus, Gia LOVED helping walk them with the soft padded leash handles. It became a team effort!

And gave an elevated spot to relax between activities or when one of the pups needed a short break. No wet grass, no dirty bellies—just chill vibes under the trees.
The Toys: Fetch Game Strong

by It’s hard to believe that our two hooligans are in fact two years old! It’s safe to say there hasn’t been a dull day because one way or another both Kiki and Zamba make us giggle daily, and I cant thank them enough for it.
It’s been two years since we suddenly lost Zara and our hearts were shattered into a million pieces! But it has also been two years of slowly repairing our broken hearts and learning to love again when we didn’t think it was possible.
When I first laid eyes on Kiki, she completely took my breath away because she was so tiny! As the saying goes though, dynamite comes in small packages and oh boy did Kiki come into our home with a boom! She has a spark in her that I can relate to being an Aires myself. It’s a spark I hope she never looses because in all honesty it makes Kiki, Kiki.
Then I cast my eyes on Zamba and instantly burst into tears because obviously he reminded me of Zara simply because he is a Rottweiler too. But thats where the resemblance stays. We didn’t want to ‘replace’ Zara, however Zara is the girl who changed our perception as a family on the Rottweiler breed. And for that I can never thank her enough! In all his fluffy glory, my baby bear Zamba sat there, looked into my eyes and I just knew he was my boy! He has grown into the most goofiest, mischievous and needy but oh so lovable boy I could ever have dreamed of!
So today we celebrate the day that both Kiki and Zamba stepped into our hearts and we fell head over heels in love…
No celebration would be complete without a birthday cake, so here is the recipe for Kiki and Zamba’s Gotcha Day Cakes.
Kiki & Zamba’s Gotcha Day Cakes
Ingredients
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 cup oil
2 tbs peanut butter
1 kids puree apple sachet
2 eggs
1 cup water
-treats to hide inside the cake batter
Directions
Preheat your oven to 170 degrees celsius. Add all your ingredients (besides the treats) to a mixing bowl and use an electric beater to mix it all together. Once combined add the cake batter to your chosen cake moulds and drop in the treats. Then bake for +-20 minutes. Once cooked through remove and let the cake cool before icing and decorating.
Icing
Ingredients
1 cup double thick plain yoghurt
1 tbs peanut butter
Directions
Add the ingredients to a mixing bowl. Using an electric beater, beat together the yoghurt and peanut butter until will combined. Then spread all over your cake and decorate how you want to.
